Thanks yeah is but the touch response set to hard makes piano feel and sound better. I'm please with it.

I'm going buy tascam dp 04 start recording using built mics. I own software but we all know how that is, You need "Tool men" computer with "sonic" speed. And money throw away.

Thanks everyone

That's certainly a good tool if you want to multi track. If all you want is a stereo recording then The Tascam DR 40 is even easier to use.

It can do 4 tracks as well but only in stereo pairs. I mention it because it's the only one @ $150 that has proper XLR/ 1/4" input jacks along  with the built in mikes. The rest all have 1/8" mini jacks. They also make a 2 track version for $100.

Freaky! haha couple days go I decided not get portastudio and buy the dr 07 but I'm liking the d 40. Which is better, in your opinion?

After doing research Dr 40 seems pretty good but Dr 07 pretty good. I do like the Dr 40 has xlr/1'4 inputs plus 4 tracks.
I have heard some recordings of pianos mic in "internal mics" to Dr 07 and sound really nice. So hard decide ha
But what comes down to is which right for me, I'm recording just me nobody else. and personally to me
dr 07 fits that without the extras.

Thanks

My band mate bought the 07 and I have the 40 the basic difference is the XLR/ 1/4" input and mine also has a remote jack for foot control option.  I want this for later as I am now recording all my live gigs.

He has done some overdubing on his and made a full song, he is not interested in computers just like you. Amazing little device, I should have bought one a long time ago.

I had a client in the studio overdubbing some vocals and acoustic guitar ( Martin D 18)  on some songs he working on. He had a new song and I just grabbed the Tascam and hit record,,, 30 seconds and we are recording. When I played it back he was blown away at how it sounded equal to the stuff we had recorded using a lot more gear.

I know to bad I didn't think of this 1st before I bought finale or Sonar x2 "$40 version" Anyways sounds to me I'm going enjoy it and easy use.

Now here question do have where should I place it to mic in my piano? In front, back or to side of me? I don't have much room place in front of me. I'm thinking about having sit left of me pointing towards me on the desk.

Thanks
