Hi chaps,

I'm excited! I took advantage of the offer and upgraded to Producer and have (I think) downloaded all the bits. Now I know some folk say you may as well keep it on there, but I'm an old Amiga guy, and while I accept its not completely rational, I hate things on my drive that I have no need for. Possibly a bit Compulsive Disorder Obsession  (I prefer CDO to COD because then you can put it the correct alphabetical sequence.....)    ;)

Seriously, is it best I install Producer first and then remove Studio, or remove Studio first, and does it uninstall cleanly?

Thanks for any help, have a great weekend.   :)

Remove X3 Studio before installing X3 Producer. Like most Windows programs, the uninstall leaves registry entries. A registry cleaner will remove them but I prefer to use regedit. There are two keys to delete:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cakewalk Music Software\SONAR Studio\X3
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software\SONAR Studio\X3

There may also be a left over user directory C:\Users\your user name\AppData\Roaming\Cakewalk\SONAR X3 Studio after the uninstall. The directory contains configuration data. Changes to run time parameters, instrument definitions and drum maps, depending on your configuration, may be in the user directory.

Thanks scook, I followed your advice and it all seemed to work. The registration for Addictive drums hasn't come through on my cakewalk store page yet, so hopefully I'll get that soon and be all set.

Thanks again.  :)
