Wouldn't that be cool. I mean. I read today of the new MOTU systems and their remote systems to their sound cards. You can remote from any PC, tablet or phone with your web browser. And what if we had that for Sonar. I mean. Just to have a start, stop, record and so on on your phone while recording alone. Or having a soft synth on your tablet beside your midi keyboard so you can real time edit. What do you think?

You haven't seen TouchDAW yet? (It's already here).
I don't see any advantage in having it done via a browser (in fact I'd rather avoid the complication of it going through one).

I use TouchOSC for some of my plugins. Would be nice to have a Sonar specific Transport skin for it.

I would like to see a tethered android control surface or VST unit....

Quite a few iPad apps can control Sonar remotely already. As well as the ones mentioned there's also V-Control (very basic but free) and V-Control Pro which use the Mackie protocol.

There's also a Microsoft Remote Desktop app that can remotely control anything on a Windows PC, albeit with a little lag.

I work with "browser based" controls for several years, and before I was developing "normal" controls. My advice: do not let your browser control your master volume till you have big red hardwired  button "Silence!" near you

Good one. But you have to set this apps up. And remote desktop log the main screen off when enabling. I wish there would be a way with just a buton to project the plugin to another device. Without having to route Controllers and that.

That's not a bad idea, but it would primarily be used on a smart phone/tablet (since you mostly wouldn't want a laptop running in the same room as an open mic) and there are already apps available for phones/tablets. TouchDAW does require a but of setup but works well. Most of the iPad apps available need an Internet connection because they "phone home", so to speak. I don't think TouchDAW does that, and neither does MS Remote Desktop or most VNC apps. In fact, if you don't want to mess with TouchDAW, VNC might be the best route for you.

You will always need to set up. You will always need to pair up/log on to other devices for security reasons to start with. None of these apps are that hard to set up (you've never had it so good).
