  • [Solved] How to delete X3 orphaned envelopes

Got a bunch of them in a vocal a track from a song created in an older version of Sonar.

The only active envelope is volume but a bunch of old envelopes are still visible.

I tried creating a new audio track and simply moving or copying the clip to the new track but the orphaned envelopes move with it.

It is no big deal they are not really affecting anything but I would like to get rid of them anyway if possible. (neatness freak)

My X3 is updated with the latest patches too.

Thanks in advance.

Right click anywhere on the envelope and select "delete envelope"?
Or select the automation lane and hit the DEL key on your keyboard.
Pretty sure both should work.

This is strange because when I rt click it is not offering delete envelope because it is in clip mode, I deleted the effects associated with the envelopes so they are not showing up in the automation select drop down menus.

1. Open the track's automation Lanes. In the lanes, you'll see the "real" envelopes that are in use.
2. Select Clips in the Edit Filter, and drag over the part of the track containing the orphaned envelopes (do not select the entire track).
3. Choose Edit > Cut Special, check only Track/Bus Automation, then click OK.

If you want to delete all envelopes in a track, orphaned and active, select the track then do step 3.

No problem. You can do pretty much anything in Sonar, you just have to know how
