Hello everyone,

I was working on a track in Sonar X3. I had the main melody being played by 8Dio's Claire Clarinet, but I wanted to see how it sounded with a lead synth sound. I inserted Native Instruments Reaktor 5 and chose their Razor instrument. I don't remember exactly which patch I was playing, but I don't think that's important. Anyway, when the track that Razor was assigned to was selected I could play directly from my MIDI controller and hear the audio just fine. I could even record a performance, play it back, and hear the sound fine. However, when I attempted to copy and paste the MIDI data from the clarinet's track to the Razor track I could no longer hear any sound. The meters on the faders in console view also showed no movement, so it definitely was not reading any data at all despite there being MIDI notes there. I tried to manually draw the data into the piano roll view and again I got no sound at all. I ended up having to re-record the clarinet line manually since I simply could not copy-and-paste from another track. Sad story: I ended up liking the clarinet better anyway, so I didn't even use the synth part >_<

Has anyone experienced something similar, or can someone try to replicate the problem?

Thank you!

Bumping this just one time in case some people missed it.
Chime in if you've experienced this weird problem.

It's been a while but I've had that and other similar issues before.

1-Sometimes the shortcut keys fail for Cut-Copy-Paste and you have to go the menu, but since you can see the MIDI data, that is not the case here.
2-Bristol Jonesey most likely has the answer.  After copy-paste I sometimes have to go to Find and Replace and set all the MIDI channels in the new track to 1.  (Of course, it may not be 1 in your case, but most sytnhs and soft synths default to 1.)
