Is anyone using Sound Toys MicroShift?  If this will do a great job of doubling vocals left and right, I will buy it.  Unfortunately, the demos on the Sound Toys site sound either super-80s or like heavy chorusing/detuning.  I did not hear a good example of double-tracked vocals.

Thoughts, anybody?

Why not just do it yourself using a couple of busses? I haven't heard a lot of love for Microshift from anyone except SoundToys. I don't have the link at the moment, but there is a Youtube video on how to do this in Logic. The same principles apply to Sonar, and all of the necessary plugins come with Sonar.

If you can't find the video, PM me and I'll send you a link or short instructions.

Melodyne Essential can do some convincing ADT effects; I wrote an article for the Cakewalk Blog about how to do it. Just remember to copy the track you want to use for ADT before applying any pitch correction so you have a raw track to work with. Hey, it's free - give it a try and see if it works for you.

Thanks to both of you.  I typically record vocals twice and edit them to get a particular sound.  I have also done a good deal of double-tracking with Melodyne and have done the old school clone-track-and-shift-time-and pitch thing.  (I also have a TC Helicon VoiceWorks+.)

So, no trouble getting doubled vocals.  I just thought that if MicroShift were a great and easy solution it would be worth the price.  From what I've heard, I am not impressed.  The free VX_64 Vocal Strip in Sonar does as well on vocals, if not better.

Thanks very much for your kind offers to help.  I was just curious if the tool was any good since it claims an Eventide heritage.  Think I will pass.
