  • Effects showing up on tracks with no effects in the bin or the buss they are assigned to.. (p.2)

Is the input of the guitar track different from the input of the vocal track?

Iv'e had very odd behaviour happen between tracks and busses, one of which is the before talked about phasiness,or polarity weirdness if using waves Kramer Tape on both a track and a buss simultaneously, which is now a big no no.

Path Delay Compensation doesn't fix this?

I just have the feeling that Sonar is packed to the gills with so much stuff, that sometimes odd things are just bound to happen, though I'm certainly only guessing on this.

I've had similar things happen when sending tracks to a bus with Waves Aphex on it, and also a dry bass track feeding a bus with a bass amp sim. But in my case, the phased sound would happen after the first iteration of a loop, and would continue until I closed the project and launched it again. I haven't seen it for ages though.

Sorry.
I was away there doing other stuff [SONAR yay!] well Craig sir,I always thought PDC stood for "Plugin" Delay Compensation, but no nothing seems to fix this odd change[like you guessed it! it sounds"out of phase"]though it is particularly noticeable with Waves Kramer Master Tape, also another far more experienced Sonar X series user "Zo"-he is a teacher at Paris's SAE,has noticed it also[if I'm not mistaken...all apologies if I am]and mentioned it during one of his YouTube videos I think?

It seems less apparent most of the time with other brands/coders plugins, and sometimes a reboot will help overcome the worse cases sometimes, but I've been under the impression for a while now it was just a SONAR X foible,or trait,so I just use a workaround of trying not to have identical plugs and their settings on both Tracks AND Busses which usually shouldn't be necessary anyway.

I have indeed toggled the PDC button every time, without change sometimes, but then sometimes like the reboot,it will fix it or at the very least lessen my perception of the Phase quirk,or I just only use THAT plug,on either a track or a buss instead, which 9 times out of 10 pulls everything back to what I think it should sound like, though I would not be too surprised if some of my tracks still exhibit phase or polarity issues being that I'm only a vet "playing"guitar not so much recording it,especially digitally.

Ps something went weird with the font size there,we're having a particularly cold winter[for here] and the ADSL has been playing up no end!

Yes Sharke Aphex is another culprit, but I'm still experiencing it.

You are correct, sir . Path Delay Compensation is a common network term, which I transferred mentally over to Sonar. But in a DAW, the context is indeed plug-in delay compensation.

I have some stuff going on when soloing a track (should only hear that track) but sends that are prefader(s) still go to their busses.... two choices, MUTE the BUSSes or TURN off the pre fader sends Real PITA.

This drives me nuts sometimes.

1) Busses are notorious for becoming corrupt like that. Sometimes replacing it with a new one and deleting the old one helps.

2) Next time try just muting the offending bus instead of all the FXs.
