1. ARC2, now I can get a mix faster than ever. No more hit and miss.
2. Wireless keyboard and mouse. Now I can place them on top of my Korg Krome 88.
3. Upgrade my CPU to the latest i7. Now it is errrrr faster.

For me it's a Kemper Profiling Amp.
Sounds fantastic and reamping via spdif couldn't be easier.

Recording - prints a mono DI track (L) and mono track of the amp you're playing (R).
Reamping - send the DI back into the Kemper, change to another profile, arm a new track (mono or stereo), press play to record the reamped track.

Mine is also the Kemper Profiling Amp!

In regards to your description above, is there any latency re-amping back through the spdif? As it felt like there was a little doing it through the analog circuitry.

Regards
Lee

New studio monitors - JBL LSR308's.  I can now mix bass on the first shot.  Before with Samson Resolv 6.5a monitors I had a problem getting the bass right and would take several mixes.

A nice little valve preamp.  And a PJ bass.  The two together record beautifully.

I originally wanted a Jazz bass, but played this in the music shop where I teach, and fell in love with it.

Through the preamp, EQ, Ca-2a and maybe a smidgen of Sat Knob (great plugin ) set to keep high = Bass heaven.
Sometimes ad a bit of chorus, and maybe delay - lurvely...

Oh, and arriving in August is the best new addition.  A sibling for my son.

We will then have the makings of a power trio.

Gin & Ts all round.

Carry on.

These ferrite core clips:

I had an unsolvable RF problem since there is a radio station about 2.5 miles from me. At certain times I would get radio stations leaking into my signal. I did some research and found that a solution to this problem using ferrite cores on audio cables. Its amazing how well these work and it removed virtually all the RF noise.

That is very interesting Noel.

Previously I have assumed that Ferrite Beads were only useful for suppressing unintended transmission from a cable. Your comment sent me off to read this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferrite_bead where I learned that they do indeed work in both directions.

Thanks for the tip!

My RME fireface ufx is what I'm most happy about now.
The latest purchase is a behringer patchbay, but I've not it installed yet. I'm Really looking forward to be able to use outboard gear in a more creative way without too much hassle.

And I'm waiting for a used Yamaha Motif ES rack. It's in the mail right now :-)
