Hi I'm hoping someone can help because this is driving me nuts

I just bought a presonus USB Audiobox interface (the basic 2 channel one) to try and get a basic version of sonar running on my laptop for mobile recording.  The laptop is a Lenovo z570 with an i5 processor and 6gb of ram so should be man enough for the job.

I am only using the internal hard drive which isn't ideal but as explained it is only for spot recordings.  The audio interface is working fine with other programs but sonar (although it was working yesterday) seems to be getting its knickers in a twist and won't play and audio sound.  Have checked all the preferences and it is set to the the Audiobox over ASIO.

I think the problem is within sonar itself because when you try and drop a very simple loop of either was or RX2 onto the timeline it does not display the waveform and just says busy and then although the timeline moves no audio comes out.  I have tried reinatalling Sonar X3e several times to no avail.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing that please?  Any help is greatly appreciated

It seems to me like it is not initialising the audio engine

So you deleted the picture cache, and now what is happening?

No I didn't delete any picture cache I am talking about dropping a wav file (or rx2 or mp3) into a completely new session and I can't hear any audio although the timeline moves.  The waveforms also say busy and show a flat line if I bounce to clips to redraw the wavefile

The main issue is not hearing any audio I think it is not initialising the audio engine for some reason

If I do recompute pictures on the wav files it still shows as busy

So humor me. The picture cache being corrupted can cause more than one symptom in Sonar.

type this into Google: "corrupt picture cache site:forum.cakewalk.com"
