I Think I made a mistake on the X3a upgrade. I paid for and downloaded the new X3a upgrade in which I thought was an upgrade for X3 Producer which it is not. After I installed the upgrade I realized what I had done. Now I have this Program in which I purchased for $25 that takes up a lot of valuable space. I guess I'll eat the $25 and chalk it up to a lesson. Next Time I'll do more research into what I'm Getting.... Buyer beware..... Bob Watson

It's not clear what you did buy. You bought something, but what?
Who or what company did you buy it from?

X3 "a" patch came with the original install of X3. What version of X are you upgrading? In your post it seems to say that you paid to upgrade X3 to X3a, but all patches, including "a" are free for registered users.

I'm confused.

Well, there is a lesson here.
Product awareness is very important. To be honest, the documentation is pretty clear, and I'm a bit confused as to how such a mistake could be made.
But at this point, your best bet is to focus on undoing the damage.
X3 Producer should be at X3e. Depending on where you were, you may have overwritten the current version with an older one. Did you get any warning messages while X3a was installing?
Do you have System Restore enabled on your computer? If so, restore to before you installed X3a.
Then, open X3, and click Help>About Sonar. This will show you which version you have installed.
If it shows anything less that X3e, go to support and download the e update patch.
As Grem noted update patches are free.
The upgrade is for people upgrading from earlier versions(ie Sonar 8, etc).
You might want to call customer support Monday. They may be able to issue you a credit. No promises, but it's worth a shot.

Yes your correct, Good lesson to learn. I received a Email from cakewalk last week regarding a Friday special, to upgrade Sonar X3. I thought great and only 25 bucks. So I upgraded... Luckily It didn't overwrite my existing X3e
producer program, It placed it in its own folder and short cut. So lesson learned I'll just delete that folder and contents and regain the space. I'll try and call customer support on Monday maybe I'll get a refund. Thank for your input.
