  • What would be a good audio interface with 8 inputs, low latency and a decent price? (p.3)

Jim,

I take it that the smaller models should behave similarly. I'm seriously considering a Scarlett 2i4. In fact, unless there's a major change, I should pick one up next week.

Is the RTL that bad and/or any idea of the best I can expect?

I don't really use input monitoring that much at this point so it's not really a concern, but, should I ever need it, I'm wondering what to expect.

Worth mentioning - I currently can lower the buffers all the way down to 32 w/ my (sucky) M-Audio Fast track w/ its core audio drivers. I'm wondering if it's something exclusive to M-Audio or the core drivers... But I am assuming that this would further reduce the RTL.

Rain - I have the Focusrite Scarlett 18i6 and set at 2ms I can't perceive latency at all. Sounds to my ear like zero latency.
