Hi folks,

In the next couple of days I will be migrating to a new PC. I want to take my MAudio Audiophile 192 soundcard with me but am a little unsure about the technicalities of setting it up.

I know that I need to install the latest drivers from the website BEFORE physically installing the card. I know basically how to physically install the card.

But how do I install the soundcard's 'Control Panel' Software which I'm guessing (its been a long time since i first installed it) is on the CD which came in the box?

Does anyone know if when running the CD I will be able to install JUST the control panel but NOT the (old) drivers?

Also, what order should I do things in? I'm guessing I will:
1. Install latest drivers from M Audio website.
2. Install the 'Control Panel' software from the CD (if possible)
3. Physically install the soundcard.

Any help would be much appreciated.
Best wishes
Dave

the card can be inserted before the drivers are installed, all you'll need to do is ignore any Windows prompts to install hardware from Windows update or whatever, then run the m-Audio driver install.

The CD isn't needed at all.  The control panel will be included in the downloaded drivers.  Is the card PCI?
1 - Install the card
2 - Windows should notice it has something new, ignore it
3 - download and install the latest drivers from the web
