I thought with Bias FX Pro you got a slew of amps included. Are you saying they aren't Lars?

You get the Amps included in the BASE Edition of Bias Amp OlPal..not the ones
in Pro...

Here is the Q & A

IMO Amplitube has the best Fender sounds going. I'm not a fan of IKM but their Fender reverb amps are very authentic sounding. After that they all blurr together for me. S-Gear is very good so I don't see that buying another simm would actually do anything outstanding.

I like the Fender Amps in Amplitude 4. Also still use Waves GTR a lot. I have but don't use Guitar Rig. Tried Revalver, eh.  Never tried Bias, how many amp sims do I need? I feel that Amp 4 and GTR is enough, the rest is up to me.

Bias FX Pro is supposed to have 32 amps and eleventy jillion pedals. That's the one I'm talking about. On sale for $159.00 now.

I like S-Gear and TH 3, but with the amp matching technology I may have to try Bias Amp Pro; I'm definitely going to look into it on you tube and see how well that works. Between Guitar Rig, TH3, and various vst fx I have plenty of fx and with S-Gear my pedals work as well ...

The Grim
i own them all and many more. imo s-gear2(scuffham) is over rated, i haven't fired it up since the 2.53 update maybe 18 months ago, it just doesn't sound or feel that good to me compared to others.

guitar rig, owned it since 3, own the latest, never use it, imo sounds like crap, cleans ok but overdriven, distortion, forget it, there are much better

amplitube, i own everything available for it, it's not bad, gets more use than the above.

bias fx pro, own it and bias amp pro, in my opinion a step above the rest

don't forget revalver 4, it is right up there, and with the release of the act stuff, especially act combo and act combo presets, oh what the hell even the act input modules, it has risen to the top for me (or equal top with bias stuff)
those act combo presets sound awesome. (you got to profile your guitar and a few other things, easy as, and results are awesome, imo of course)

for a long time i never touched revalver, it was all either bias fx pro or bias amp pro or sometimes th3 or amp 4. then the act combo thing came along and i gave it a whirl, and as they released more act presets (basically amps) i just began using revalver more and more, and not just the act combo side, even just the 'normal' stuff, now i pretty much use it exclusively, with the occasional switch, wish the stomps and fx racks were up there with bias fx pro though, but hey

I'm with Grim.  Bias just stands out a tad above the others to me.  Plus, there are a zillion "user-made" amps online (though I think most are pretty poor). Grim is also right about Revalver, though most of the amps are either Peavey models or various hi-gain ones (Orange, Marshall etc).  If you're into clean you might struggle a bit with it. If you use an ipad I would recommend taking a look at "Flying Haggis" (it's a meager $7) and "Yonac".  Flying Haggis isn't modeled on any particular amp, but is the designers idea of an ideal clean amp.  I think it sounds great.  Yonac too is very good, but to me not quite as good as Bias.  One last plus for Bias is that it has the new "amp modeling" software included in the Pro package.  I, however, have no idea how that sounds since I just use the ipad version.

Lastly, larry is right about the structuring of Bias' products.  It's totally bizarre!!

Good luck to you!!

That's correct Ol Pal...that's the same number Amps you get with Bias Desktop Standard...

If you want the rest of the Amps you have to buy Bias Desktop Pro...do your own Amp work...
then bring them into FX Pro...so, if you want it all...you have to buy BOTH...

Didn't think much of Amplitube.  Tried Bias FX recently (demo/trial), didn't think much of that either.  GR is OK to pretty good, in particular I like all the fx and it has some fun high gain stuff.  For realism, I'd go with S-Gear every time; it's not a 'turn everything to 11' kind of plugin but it feels more real than any other plugin I've tried; it's not trying too hard to be 'dynamic' which is where I feel a lot of emulations go astray.  It's not trying to emulate or model anything else, it's its own thing.  Isn't it an ex-Marshall guy who produced it?  Anyway, I'd use GR, TH2|3 (plugins) or the GSP1101, THR10 (modelling h/w) if I wanted to go to 11 or beyond.

I've tried pretty much everything there is and will continue to do.  Some I really don't like at all (Amplifikation One, Thermionik), some is simply atrocious ('Hardcore' - b'wahahaahaa), much is rather 'meh' (e.g. Vandal), but there is some really good free stuff out there too (like Poulin's amps and cabs).

The point I'm slowly ambling towards is that pretty much all of it is free to try so do so and figure out what you like, what works best for you.
