I recently used Melodyne to correct a couple of bass notes in a bass track (it worked wonderfully by the way). I used ARA and did the correction in line as a region FX... now, that it is done, I would like to commit the changes to the audio track so I can remove MELODYNE from being part of the project.

I know I can export the audio and then re import the track and that MELODYNE will no longer be needed but I do assume there is a much more straight forward way to do this.

Can anyone help me with this?  I tried to read the MELODYNE Sonar FAQ and TIPS on the Celemony website, which did tell me about using the software as a ARA Region FX but it didn't mention how to commit the audio edit.

Thanks in advance,
Jim

Do yourself a favour and clone the track first (then archive off the RegionFX Track). You never know you might need the RegionFX back one day.

Freeze the track. It gives you best of both worlds since you can unfreeze if you need to edit in Melodyne again.

When using V Vocal... the original track was muted.  What's happening with Melodyne?  I don't seem to be able to find the original (and muted?).  Do I need to copy the track first, so one version is left unaltered, but still useable?  (say for like double tracking effects, etc)

Yes. You need to create the copy yourself.

We took out the the logic to save the original. If you need the original save a copy of your project :)
Keeping the backup was confusing and caused a lot of problems when people tried to move the region fx clip.
If you need the original clone the track. There is rarely a need to save a copy however since a region effect can easily be removed giving you back the original clip anyway.

OK thanks folks.  I did think we would have been a bit easier and automated but I get it... BOUNCE to CLIP seems like the best way to go.  In my case I moved 3 bass notes in one region and that was it but now MELODYNE needs to load when I load up the project.  This was easier then re-recording the bass part since I would have had to record the entire track again being that I cannot recreate the sound of the original room.  This was magical to me and now I know how to commit the audio.

Appreciate all the suggestions,
Jim
