  • How can I record Audio AND Vision from my Sonar X1? (p.3)

Another update, after a little studying of my UA-4FX manual.

I have tried recording the screen video and audio without the patch cord but with the “loop back setting” in its recording source, and it works though I still have the beeping noise every time the playback hits a whole note (4 beats) and quite often when it hits a dotted half note (3 beats). Thus I do not need a patch cord so ignore my comment at 2 above concerning cables.

Perhaps the "beeping" has something to do with the latency. I've been trying different levels to set in my UA-4FX but to date nothing is removing the beeps at the long notes.

Does anybody have any suggestions please?

And yet another update. Most of my compositions have some notes that are longer than a half note (or minim as we call it in UK). When I've tried the capture/video procedure with two compositions that have no notes longer than the 2 beats all is well, the video and audio are both recorded without any beeps.

This indicates then the beeping occurs in measures containing long notes.
The questions now are:
 Why?   and
How do I cure the beeping?

I have found this to be very good with abilities to save/export many formats.
http://www.movavi.com/screen-capture/  bout $50.
You can select any window for video, and audio is whatever you hear on your speakers.
No extra cables, etc.
Excellent video Resolution. Excellent audio capture.  Also a trial period for the software.
The video editor not top of the line, but capture very good.

Within the last few months due to better Video editing needs upgrade my Pinnacle Studio to
Pinnacle Studio 17 Ultimate.  It has 1920 x 1080 capture, doing great job.  After the fact
found out that you must have physical audio inputs to capture the audio.
Hence next paragraph...

On another thread in this forum VAS was mentioned...Virtual Audio Streaming.  was $29 bucks.
It is an outstanding little piece of software.  Has abilities to redirect 4 virtual cables
within my Win 7 system.  I only use one stereo. does good job.  Have used it several times
with excellent results.  Also a free trial period.

FWIW, the last few YT video's using visualizations used the Studio with VAS.
Prior ones were Movavi pieces.

Beeping often occurs in trial versions of some software. Once the product's full version is purchased, the beeping stops. I don't know if that's the case here, but... maybe?

Fb.seeker and  57 Greg, thanks for last  2 replies. I am away on holiday at the moment so I'm unable to access my pc to check this out on my X1. When I get back home I'll let you know how I get on. Alan

Back from holiday. I tried to download CamStudio and it caused nothing but problems. It introduced a program that replaced my search engines. I had to uninstall that program and reintroduce Chrome and Firefox.

The good news though is that I have worked out how to record using Microsoft expression without any beeping on the long notes.

So I am now writing to say problem solved and special thanks to Dlion16 and Rboweser who got me on the right track.
