Hi Bob,

I'd just finished making a list of all my program locations before I came to the realisation of my previous post. I may have rushed into posting, thinking I'd found the problem. The following is the list I made before I wrote my previous post:

Both my Contents Folder and Multisamples Folder in the Registry Editor are set to C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro, the same as yours.

In that folder, I see the following:

C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro\Multisamples\01 - Grand Piano
C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro\Multisamples\02 - Drums
C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro\Multisamples\03 - Organs

etc., the same as you.

In the folder C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro\70 - Drum Loops, which, I believe, contains the Expansion Pack 2 files that won't play on my computer, I see the following files:

[ loop slices ] folder
dl_80_k01_lp02.sfz to dl_100_k07_lp04.sfz
hh_bonusbeats_80_07.sfz to hh_bonusbeats_110_15.sfz
hh_kit01_80_atmos.sfz to hhkit10_90_loop04.sfz
jw_100's
pc_80_fxmix2.sfz to pc_110_fingercymbals.sfz

---

As I said in the OP, I haven't moved any files around, and I installed everything to the default location. I think I'm just going to try and re-install Dim Pro and the Expansion Packs and see what happens. Can you confirm that all the files from your 70 - Drum Loops folder appear in the Dim Pro program and that they all play okay? I appreciate your help with this, Bob.

Just re-installed Dim Pro and the Expansion Packs and it's still the same. Should I download Dim Pro again?

Just got back from fixing several computers - WAY too tired - I will look at all of this first thing in the morning.  Thanks for the posted details - hang in there.

How about the contents of your C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro\Multisamples\70 - Drum Loops\[ loop slices ] folder?

I have 65 folders in there, and each folder contains a number of 'slice....' files, of type flac.

OK - couple of things.

1.  What version of Dimension Pro are you working with?

2.  Is it possible you had antivirus software running during your download of the Dim Pro files?  Sometimes downloads get corrupted this way.

3.  Review this thread: http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/2949550
     In the above thread, compare the download file sizes against what you have on your system.  I would like you to list the file sizes YOU downloaded.

3.  When you did your 'F5' refresh, did you first make sure the Browser was open?  If not, fire up Dim Pro again, open the patch browser, and then hit 'F5' to refresh it.

Luke73, if you've just gone from a 32-bit system to a 64-bit one, some of your DimPro loops may now crash Sonar.

See Dimension Pro x64 Crashes Sonar X3e for details.

I don't know what the underlying problem is, but I also experience the crashes.

Thanks for your perseverance, Bob.

I also have 65 files in my C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro\Multisamples\70 - Drum Loops\[ loop slices ] folder, each containing a number of flac files of about 10-50kb each.

I'm using Dim Pro version 1.5.

I did have AV software running during my download, and I think this seems the most likely culprit of the problem.

My Multisamples folder in C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro is currently at 3.35GB. The original Dim Pro Setup file that I installed from is 3.067GB. The Expansion Pack Zip file is 201.623MB.

The browser was open when I pressed F5.

I guess I'll have to try and download it again without the AV software running.

Paul P,

Sonar isn't crashing for me. Some of the multisamples cannot be found.

Thanks guys. I'll let you know how it works out.

My Multisamples folder is 5.34 GB - don't know if I have additional items or not (have to go look).

What are the sizes of all of the downloaded files (not after install, the ones you originally downloaded)?

I want to see their sizes from YOUR system compared to:

04_Dimension_Pro_1_5_Setup  = 2.92 GB
Dimension Pro Free Expansion Packs 1-3 = 196 MB
Digital_Sound_Factory_Symphonic_Strings_HD = 1.3 GB

(the above are from my system).

I've got:
04_Dimension_Pro_1_5_Setup = 3.067 GB
Dimension Pro Free Expansion Packs 1-3 = 201.623 MB

You are not reading those file sizes correctly.

1 GB = 1,073,741,824 bytes

My '04_Dimension_Pro_1_5_Setup' file is 3,141,067,859 bytes, if I look at its properties.

If you then divide the file size by the number of bytes in 1 GB, it comes to 2.92 GB (approximately), which is the same number that Windows shows me in File Explorer (Windows 8).

Similarly, on MY computer, the 'Dimension Pro Free Expansion Packs 1-3' come out to approximately 196-197 MB, depending on how you round.
