Thanks all. I went and picked up an Asus 23" touch monitor and I have it on my desk next to my Mackie Control Pro. I can now open the plugins on this baby and set their parameters by touch.

And you still have room for a 46" beast on the wall..

+1 on the size of the knobs and text on VSTs. I have the resolution on my 2nd monitor set to a lower value so I can see and use VSTs with ease. Developers have got to start thinking about resizable UIs. A lot of the VSTs look like they were designed for 800x600 screens. My poor eyes!

I tried vertical monitors once years ago and I developed a crick in my neck. I was in horrible pain. I put them horizontal and the crick went away. :)

Using a 30" DELL U3011 2560x1600 with 2 x 20" NEC 2080UX 1200x1600 (portrait) along either side of the Dell, with the monitors above the screen "wall" pointing towards me.

Perfect for me, arrangement (huge) in the middle, mixer to the right with enough vertical room (1600px) to cover everything and a "plugin screen", while tracking, or the mixer in the middle while mixing. Perfect for any DAW i work with. It's essential to for me to mouse work horizontally and have the same vertical resolution on each screen. Can't imagine putting screens on top of that screen "wall"...

the 2nd monitor below is working great. The touchscreen is so useful I'm selling my Mackie Control Universal Pro. :) Still, I now have visions of that large TV up on the wall...
