These "nobodies" contribute useful information to the forum, help users troubleshoot issues, and assist with demonstrating useful techniques with Sonar.

I haven't seen it! These guys have not contributed one useful iota in this thread except vitriol and hate-speech. And you have taken sides with them, whoop dee doo!

Anderton
They are smart enough to have figured-out a long time ago to
a) use plugins they like to use, and
b) not use plug-ins they don't like to use.

Yeah, geeezzz, can you tell me what university i need to study at in order to be this smart?

Anderton
They apparently don't feel it's necessary to start threads dedicated to their opinions without offering some kind of useful information as part of that process. With all due respect, you have not posted anything that would cause someone to think your opinions are particularly credible.

The thread was started asking for opinions about the Softube Saturation plugin while subsequently including my own opinion about said plugin, how does that constitute "dedicated to my opinion"? That's a bit of an exaggeration don't you think?
No one starts a thread with a thesis on why they have such opinions, credible need not apply. And anyway, several posters have already agreed with me about the characteristics of the Saturation plugin, simply that they find the grit/distortion too much or that it is to be used 'sparingly', so my opinion was validated and proved credible!

Anderton
They're also polite enough not to consistently slam other companies who don't frequent this forum, and therefore don't have a chance to counter any assertions made against them. If the above is the way that nobodies act, then I am happy this forum is filled with nobodies.

Opinions about the products of third-party plugin companies are widespread right across the net in any audio forum you might care to name, and any counter-assertion from any third-party plugin company would mean nothing anyway, people are free to make-up their own mind about the performance of plugins, we just have to use our ears, so what has politeness got to do with it?? If i feel that the latest Toyota or Honda car is garbage then i should be free to say so anywhere any time, what's politeness got to do with it??

These nobodies have done nothing but denigrate and deride me simply because they already spent too much money on garbage plugins and don't want to accept the plain facts or simply haven't gone to the extent of obtaining an iLOK and don't want to spend more money to obtain what are clearly superior plugins, that's no excuse to come and cast contemptuous sarcastic slurs at me is it? And yet you take their side, so clearly you're party to their comments, nothing about that infers due respect at all, you've been anti LA2A ever since i joined the Sonar forums.

I think it's time to invoke the widely-known observation that the one consistent factor in all your bad relationships is you.

The board of elders in the Troll Police have spoken:

So lets sum-up

1: Apparently i'm a troll because i believe certain plugins perform better than others in the same category
2: Apparently i happen to be Godparticle (whoever the hell that is!)
3: Apparently i don't use Sonar X3
4: Apparently i ask "loaded" questions

Where did the Troll Police get all this inside information, the NSA, Edward Snowden, or maybe the doofus files

There's people here taking envy-based cheapshots at me essentially because i don't like the overpriced overhyped Waves plugins, and believe Slate Digital make superior ones, but in comparison to the several thousand registered forum members here that haven't chimed-in (because they know i'm telling the truth), i think i can safely say that you lot qualify as a handful of nobodys, yeah? Mr Anderton excepted of course, but even he took a cheapshot at me.

Nice attempt at a strawman argument, for starters nobody said you were a troll because you claim certain plugins perform better than others. We claim you are a troll because the pattern of your "questions" always seem less like questions and more like a setup to compare every component of Sonar to others in a negative light. Not one of your topics has strayed from this predictable pattern. The mock offense is very transparent and is standard for trolls. A new person actually offended would likely not be attached enough to stay and go back and forth. Trolls feed on these kind of topics because they can always get a few disgruntled users to give partial agreement while they play the offended card.

I like the Sat Knob, and use it on most of my projects.

Perhaps what sets me (and many others in this thread) apart from people who don't, is that I (we) know how t use it.

Thanks, Mike, for more proof of your credentials.

"questions" is plural, i have only asked a 'single' question in this entire thread relating to the performance of a plugin (my opening post), and my first ever post/question in these forums was an innocent query, so your resorting to exaggeration and generalizations in order to add weight to the idiocracy of your comeback, and in the process making yourself look stupid.
What's more, we have more exaggeration and generalizations from you because never have I mentioned any component of Sonar in these forums except the pro-channel (and that was merely to ask info about what went into making it, and even then i never criticized the pro-channel at all), other than that the Softube saturation plugin is third-party and found in three different DAWs, so it has nothing to do with Sonar from a Cakewalk aspect.

Why would any disgruntled forum user give partial agreement through their own volition if they were disgruntled, do you speak for the masses do you, or maybe you have a high opinion of yourself? Am i responsible for how anyone chooses to reply? Any agreement from another forum member is exactly that... "Agreement! "Which undermines your Troll accusation. How did you know they are disgruntled anyway?? And more to the point, are you on medication?

Not really, just keeping it simple, shall i put it another way... It takes one to know one! The beauty of simplicity. We need emotional content, not anger, now try again!

You bloody genius! Please tell me where i can go to learn how to turn that single big bad knob on the Softube saturation plugin and discern if it is treating my audio with silk gloves

You certainly are simple, Mike.  Angry, but simple.  Just try to project less, bless your little, black heart.

Why the sarcasm, when you obviously struggle with this yourself, Mike?

I would have thought that any half-witted buffoon would have been able to figure out how to use it, just by listening, but sadly it was beyond you.

You couldn't even tell what the "Keep Low/Keep High" switch did.  Or know the difference between Tape and Tube Saturation.

This does not bode well for your future in Audio Engineering / Product Assessment, Mike.

Now, let's not enter into a battle of wits.  I don't like to fight an unarmed man..

Good luck, and happy music making.

I am really curious about this kind of behaviour, and I reckon there's a really fascinating piece of psychology research in it, which I'd love to read. I'm not making a joke or attempting a put down here, I'm entirely serious.

The thing that I find especially intriguing is the pattern settled into here, which is quite a common one. Troll sets out to lead everyone a merry dance. Everyone, from the off responds with a yawn, and states very clearly they know what the troll is up to. Troll gets progressively more irate. Self-trolling, I suppose you could call it.
