Hey, everyone. Today I promptly received my Korg nanoKONTROL 1. It's a unit of decent qality that I plan to incorporate deeply into my rig.
However, when it comes to setting up all this ACT stuff, my biggest issue is working with the banks. Clearly, when I set parameters for one bank (like Bank 1), I can't use those controls as the same controls in Bank 2 because they're already assigned in B1. HOWEVER, 1) is there a work around to this? and 2) how will I be able to change banks quickly without having to bring up the ACT panel?
I have more questions, though- why is it that some controls only have an Off/ON kinda deal where you can't set MIDI controls to them? And finally, How do I set this up so that my faders can move between controlling sets of 8 (actually, I have 9...) tracks?

Thanks a bunch guys, hopes are that I can get this thing sorted out!

Not familiar with this piece of hardware in particular, but you might try YouTube for a video setting it up in Sonar.

If you do not need Buses control, you can use Generic Surface plug-in.

I had a NanoKontrol2 a while back and set it up in ACT. It isn't set up on my new rig but I remember I set it up using the Mackie Control template in ACT. As far as controlling the track 9 fader, you can set a button up to change which set of tracks are being controlled by the ACT controller. On my Akai MPK 88 I set up 2 of the buttons to select the next and previous track, 2 more to move the ACT controller's 8 controlled tracks between track banks and 2 more to move between groups. If I need to control track 10, I just select the next track bank and use slider and knob 2. I can also switch to the buses easily.

To do this, go to the options tab in the set up (in Sonar) for your ACT Controller. In the Buttons row, select a button and then select Previous Track Bank or Next Track Bank, etc. That will move WAI indicator between groups of tracks and then use the appropriate slider to control the track.

Hope that helps.
