Am considering buying another FF800 to use with my windows 8.1 PC. I use Sonar X3e I have 2 Panasonic Ramsa DA7 consoles and need more I/O's into the DAW. Anyone try this (2 fireface 800's)? Just wanna be certain there will be no issues using them both. Also what would be the best way to run them? separate firewire ports or one into the other? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Just trying to predict problems.

No one has any input on this subject? I tried using a Motu 828mk2 and my Tascam fw-1884 but ran into all sorts of issues. So I thought maybe if I try 2 ff800's seeing as tho they are the same interface should not be a prob but really want to know before I actually drop $$$ on the piece.

Well, it should be a simple setup to use them together where you have them digitally sync'd. One slave to the master.

I've noticed that within DigiCheck, I can have up to 3 RME UCX devices working simultaneously. It's like magic. I'm pretty sure I still have to sync them though.

I would think it is simple however, I tried it with different brands and had a terrible experience so I did not want to assume this time.

That hard routing for every analog in to and adat out and every adat in to an analog out is a default setting in the RME UCX. You can bring it up at any time without connecting to a computer (You might have to be disconnected from the computer to bring it up actually). It's a mode like Class Compliant Mode that you can initialize the device to with ease. Then you just wire up the optical adat cables and you're rolling.

Option 1 in the video is exactly what I was looking for.

I've been using 2x FF800'seeing with 2x ADATs for years upto 40 inputs for live or studio recording.

Holy smokes, Mudgel! You're the real thing!

It'll be another 20 years before I have that many cables, much less mics!

What's the setup time for 40 mics? Do you have to have super long cables with direct boxes in a warehouse to get everyone spread out enough?

Have you ever used all 40?
