Good news this time. I reset and rescanned my plugins as Dan Cate suggests and now the Region FX menu is exactly as it should be. Nothing in there except Melodyne and V-Vocal. I thought I'd have a look at that registry key anyway to see what it contains, which is as follows:

Edit: I since removed the registry key from this post due to its horrendous length.

So what plugs should be showing up under region effects, VST3 or just ARA?

Just ARA. Regular vst3 plugs should only appear in the browser.

Melodyne, if you have it installed, and VVocal if you still have it from previous SONAR versions.   But you do need the VST3 version of Melodyne in order to access it from the Region FX menu - otherwise it can only be used as a regular VST plugin.

LOL! After realising the length of that lot, I tried to edit the post to delete it but the system wouldn't let me do it. Fortunately it changed its mind today and co-operated.

Hello all. I must say I like all the new toys in X3 and it seems somehow faster and more reliable. I noticed a bit of strangeness tonight though. I went to try Melodyne for the first time, but my Region FX menu didn't contain entries for Melodyne or V-Vocal. However the keyboard shortcuts work so I know they're installed. The menu is populated instead with Perfect Space, a couple of other reverb effects and a Waves plugin. There could have been others too but this is coming from memory and I sure need an upgrade there! So I'm wondering if others are missing their Melodyne and V-Vocal menu options?

Inside of the Utilities > Cakewalk Plugin Manager do you have Melodyne listed as a VST3 Audio Effect?

Dan,
I have the same problem on a new DAW. The mobo died on my old DAW and I'm just getting back to work with Sonar on a brand new system. I used my second activation to load/activate Melodyne Editor (which I purchased), but I get no pull-down menu at all under <Region FX>. Melodyne does not show up under VST3 Audio Effect. I tried the rescan that you pointed to and nothing changed. <Melodyne Singletrack> shows up under the ReWire tab in the browser, along with my Ableton Live installation. The standalone version of Melodyne Editor loads up and seems to work just fine. I have these directories in my plugin directory list:

C:\program files\cakewalk
C:\program files\cakewalk\vstplugins
c:\program files\celemony
How do I even know if I have the VST3 version of Melodyne? Is it located somewhere else???

It all worked before on my old DAW (now history)...

I'm running Sonar X3 Producer patch X3d, on a windows 7 professional, quad core, 16GB system.

The 64bit VST3 version of any plug-in is located in "C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3". The full path for the Melodyne Singletrack VST3 plug-in is "C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\Celemony\Melodyne\Melodyne.vst3"

Thanx for this...out of frustration, I went ahead and installed X3e patch, and selected <Repair>. The installer figured it out, and just 2 minutes ago, I saw that the directory you mentioned was added to my list.
