I heard a fun 'Star Spangled Banner' last night before the fireworks. The guitarist did a really terrific job. It made me smile as the picnic crowd tried to figure out whether to stand and salute the crazy distorted wah madness coming from the stage, but in the end the crowd was on their feet anyway and then the fireworks began...
 
It was a great experience.

I have to say that the best fireworks show I have seen was the US Capitol on the Mall.  We were there in 1987 and on the southern end close to the Lincoln Memorial.  We were listening to the music on boom boxes coming from the stage.  Man, when the show ended we could not see because of the smoke that lasted for a few minutes.
