Ok, I did get AD2, but only for the one kit. It didn't upgrade all my other content.

That means that my Jazz Kit and other content is not available in AD2.

But whatever.

To tell the truth I don't really care.

In a year or two I'll move on to some new thing and these kits will never get opened again.

I often buy s. Cakewalk sells without understanding what I'm getting.

Like once I bought the license to be able to use the CA2A in other DAWs without realizing that was what I was buying. I already had it for the Cakewalk ProChannel. I thought it was some kind of upgrade.

Just gave my money away that time. Life is harder when you're as dumb as me. Thank your lucky stars!

Is AD1 running normally?

I would contact cake to see if this is normal. They might even be able offer a refund or a change of license for the upgrade deal for extra dollars... Cheers...

AD1 and AD2 both work... just with different kits. So if I'm looking through my kits, I'll add both to the project and switch the midi track around. I can't even browse the midi samples for AD1 using AD2.

Kinda a PIA imho. There's only a couple of things the new one does that the old one doesn't. I don't really get it.

And why is the installer called XLN rather than Addictive installer? I just type Addictive in Win 8 and turn up stuff related to Addictive Drums but XLN? wtf? I had to go to the AD website to figure out what the app was called that I have to go plug the key into. It wasn't listed in the text doc from Cakewalk.

Scuse me... it's my time of the month.

Too add I think this is being advertised badly. It should be clear on that page that existing AD1 owners should be looking at the AD2 upgrade deal first.

Its called XLN installer because they make the product. If you had Addictive Keys for instance or a product branded without 'addictive' you would be using exactly the same installer.

Thanks, Alex. Helps to understand why the installer has a different name.

And playing with AD2, it does have some fun new features.

Been tweaking stuff for hours now. My favorite is the random timing, velocity and the ability to change the intensity of 8th vs 16th which is an easy way to switch up a groove.

I do think it would be nice if the Fairfax kit showed up in AD1. I wonder if I'd ever really bother with AD2 if I could just have all my stuff in one place.

My midi clips for Session Drummer show up fine in the Media Browser. Where are the Midi Clips for the drum stuff I've bought for AD? I've bought two expansion packs for AD now, and I don't think you can even use the Midi clips outside of AD.

Am I wrong on this?

It's been awhile but I think the differences between the pro channel only version of LA2A and upgraded one included more than just vst capability but I could be wrong.

I am curious what you really own... If you go to the XLN web page and open My Account, what do you see?

I have  AD, Rock, Pop, Prog,  3 Beats packs, Pearl and "Upgrade". I went XLN way so, I was "lucky" to register AD reasonably late to get 50% upgrade price.

Also in case you browse let say "Prog" ADDPAK (http://www.xlnaudio.com/en/products/view/103) while still logged in, do you see some price or just "Purchased" (like me)? May be you have used separate accounts for registering AD1 and registering AD2? At all places, XLN claims in case you upgrade AD1->AD2, you get everything from AD1 available in AD2 (but not reversed...).
