So my instructor gave me some files he made in Pro Tools. I'm noticing something different when I import them compared to other files.
When I import these files they dont come in at the beginning of the track or where my playhead is. Was this intentional and why does it exist? I'm guessing these files have some sort of metadata on them that's making them do this. They all come in at different times on their own tracks.

They are Broadcast Wav-files which include a time stamp.  In Preferences you can chose whether to import them at timestamp or not.

Uncheck "Always Import Broadcast Waves At Their Timestamp" in Preferences > File > Audio Data
