If you have added a bunch of effects for the mix, you may have to increase your ASIO Buffer size a BUNCH, to allow for latency and CPU spikes added by certain effects plugins.
Folks that record tracks with an ASIO Buffer Size of 128 sometimes bump their ASIO Buffer Size up to as high as 1024 when mixing/mastering.
You can test the above out quickly, by simply hitting 'E' on your computer keyboard to 'bypass all effects', and then see if it plays back with no issues. (hitting 'E' again after testing this will enable the effects again - the E is just a toggle on/off for effects processing).
If playback sounds OK with effects bypassed, then go ahead and jack up your ASIO Buffer Size and see if that takes care of the issue.
Please note that if you have additional editing or tracking to do, you may need to swap out some of your plugins, or bypass them during editing/tracking. Some effects use look-ahead processing or just chew up CPU, and that is fine, as long as you only add them after you finish the recording process and move on to mixing.
