Hey folks...

I have the MCU up and running with Sonar X3. Very nice. I just cant seem to switch between Pro Channel FX. The MCU only wants to control the compressor. Is there a better guide to using the MCU within Sonar somewhere? Im sure this thing goes way deeper than faders and controlling one plugin.

I am able to get the comp to change from the 76 to the P whatever by pushing the rotary thing and the MCU controls all the Comp settings. I just cant switch to the EQ or the console type...

Is this even possible.

Thanks for the insight.

There was long discussion about MCU in Sonar X: http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/2908006
Cakewalk has opened the code, but there is another problem. API for ProChannel has some bugs on SONAR side (still there in X3e). While it is possible to implement a workaround on plug-in side (at least for EQ/Compressor), it looks like there is no volunteers (who wants to work for free for commercial company...).

To find all of the settings for the MCU in Sonar Help

1. Open a project
2. Click on the Controller Surface properties box in Sonar, or go to Utilities > Mackie Controll.
3. Next while in the Controller properties box, press the F1 key on your keyboard and see the MCU help page.

It has been there all along.

Peace

As long as I know, you can only control the first Pro Channel module. So if you want to control the EQ you have to put it on top of the chain.

The MCU module and help seems to be for an older Sonar version. (Tip for the help: the edit button is the global view button)
