Hi,
When I try to import a wave file in Sonar, either it's via the browser, drag-drop from a windows explorer window or with file>import, the audio files are invariably starting at the begining of the project, wherever I drop them with the mouse or where the play cursor is.
 
This is VERY irritating cause I want to place every tracks of every songs in a row for easier mixing and this result in erased part and overlapping crossfades.
 
Anyone have an idea?

Try this: Edit > Preferences > File > Audio Data, then uncheck "Always import Broadcast WAVs at their timestamp."
 
 

Hmm... there is an option (in Preferences I think) that allows you to select whether imported tracks will land at the original timestamps or completely ignore them. The fact they are all cramming up against the 00:00:00 mark is weird though but I'd take a look at that option.
 
When I imported files from another DAW into Sonar I exported all the tracks so the resulting waves would be the full length of the song even if they were just snippets surrounded by silence. Then I just snipped where necessary. It makes the files larger but as a n00b it was easier for me to get everything to line up properly.

Always glad to help, it drove me crazy when I was importing samples from a library that stamped everything at 1:00:00:00. It was the opposite problem to yours - the samples inserted so far out on the timeline I didn't know they were there.
 
We get this question every few weeks. I put in a feature request with the Bakers to have the default be unchecked.
