If you didn't have problems before, and no one else is reporting a similar problem, I'm afraid you've entered the land of system-specific issues. I'm nowhere near as much helpful with that as some other people on this board...good luck.

That means nothing as the buffer setting is relative to each project and each PC. Raise the ASIO buffer or WDM slider and this will relieve your PC of the stress and get rid of your DROPOUTS. Its that simple...

Diagnosing the cause is pretty tricky, but there are some things you can try, and if one of them seems to solve the issue, maybe you'll have found it.
  • Close any other programs you have open
  • Disable any devices you don't strictly use (bluetooth, wifi, network)
  • Disable background services like anti-virus or backup software
  • Kill any background processes you don't strictly need (often relating to things that show up in the system tray)
  • Make sure your computer power settings are set for maximum performance rather than power-saving or similar

Also have a look at the Task Scheduler.  The are a whole bunch of processes you can disable/delete.
