Hello everyone

I have the Sonar x2 and just upgraded my Waves plugins to the Waves 8 version, but the plugins like REq or RComp seems to be missing and when I try to insert them again I get the message "Missing Plugin Stand in".

How can  I get the Waves 8 work with my Sonar x2? Thanks in advance

There was a bug that got fixed in X3c for that message.  I am looking to see what else i can find.

That was all I could dig up on that - searching Google.

It's possible the missing plugins didn't get updated to version 8. You often can't mix revisions of Waves plugins because they run inside a shell, and therefore have to be compatible with the shell version.

Waves 8 is not compatible with X3, only with 8.5 and X1. The latest Waves 9 is compatible with X3c, d and e.

If you now have X3, you should apply the 'E' update (X3e), and not X3c.  My comment earlier was that the particular error message was addressed in the X3c update, and that fix would be present in any update after that as well.

By all means, download and install X3e, if you have picked up X3.  X3e is the current release, is very stable, and has lots of other fixes too.

By the way, if you have installed any version of X3, you can download and install the latest one (X3e) without having to install b,c, or d.  The updates are CUMULATIVE, so the latest one will have all prior patches in it too.

Now, at the same time, the post above this one indicated that Waves 8 may not work with ANY version of X3, and I do not know one way or the other.  I only know that the Sonar Knowledge Base contained the information I posted in my first response.

If installing X3e does not get your Waves 8 modules to work, then perhaps indeed you also need to obtain the Waves 9 versions, as indicated in the other post above.

I have Waves 9 (Horizon bundle) but I'm merely going by the "supported hosts" page on their website.

I am a bit confused as to why you did not install X3 'E', which is the latest and greatest.  It had been posted earlier in this thread that the version 9 components seemed to work fine in X3e, so why don't you install that and get the nearly 100 other fixes that it comes with?

X3e is quite stable for lots and lots of folks, so I just don't get it.  :)
