but the problem is there appears to be a Windows bug whereby new windows sometimes appear with their top edge "stuck" under the task bar when it's positioned at the top, and they only pop out if you resize the window a little bit. .
This happens to me quite often in Win7 with the task bar at the bottom. Enough fiddling with the settings or rebooting will fix it. While this is a pain, it's nothing compared to Firefox opening new windows
under the current one.
