Several in fact. :( (1) I get a random, single crack from one channel of the card, only while in SONAR X1 Prod. It's about every 10-30 seconds apart. (2) When I turn off the PC, I get a resonant, tuneful flatulent sound from the speakers. It lasts about 5-6 seconds. Both of these problems have occurred with two different 2496 cards. (3) I have tried to instal the latest driver and it says I have a side by side error and will not run. I have tried moving the card to another slot, reinstalling it, changing latencies for the SONAR cracking problem and contacting M-Audio support. So far none of these has worked. So if anyone has any ideas about any of the problems, I would really appreciate any help.

i had a 2496 card, before i got my audiophile 192 card, never experienced any issues at all.

if the same thing happened with two different cards, then i'd say the problem is in your pc setup.

sound like a clocking problem, or, something in your pc's OS is stepping on the card signal.

...or maybe the PCI bus.

Thanks for the replies. Trouble is I have tried different slots, and the problem only occurs in SONAR, and only in one channel.

My Delta 44 crapped out exactly like you're describing.  pops and crackles.  Mine started in one INPUT only and then it was on ALL inputs.

I threw the card away since it wasn't worth repairing.  mine was only about 4 years old.

Well mine is only 4 _weeks_ old! I am guessing it's a driver issue, or some incompatibility with SONAR, because two different cards in different slots have done the same thing.

OK. Here is what is happening now.(1) The crackle / pop is still there after loading the latest driver from m-Audio (2) It happens ONLY in one channel (3) It happens ONLY when SONAR X1 is running (4) It happens ONLY when there is a project loaded, even if the project is empty, without any tracks at all. (5) It happens exactly the same whether I am plying or the project is just sitting (6)It has stayed there through all upgrades of X1, from original download to loading up Expanded X1e. I have tried buffers, different sample rates, trying to match SONAR's settings to the card's, profiling the card, several times....

do you have previous versions of sonar?  does it happen in 8.5 or below?

which operating system?  I had problems like this due to shared interrupts with the video card on WinXP, but I dont think I've had to even check things like that in Win7.
