Thank you Allan and Tom.  Yea - I've been thinking about revisiting the bass.

Peter,
Cool tune, definitely sorta guitar instrumental proggy and heavy.  Nice playing and fun to listen.  The mix sounded good on my system.  No real crits from this camp.  Nice job!

Nicely done. My only crit would be to bring the original melody in more during the middle to keep the listener attentive. What you're doing is really good but you only brought the original melody back at the end.

Great playing!!!

Thanks man.  I hear you about bringing in the melody earlier...and I do that pretty often, but sometimes I try to stray from my usual formula.

Excellent mix and playing. Drums are really nice - are they a recorded set (old school)?

Yes, drums were recorded...old school.  Kick was replaced.  The hats were creeping in through the snare mic (even with a gate on there) so the meaty/lower frequencies of the snare is the original and the higher frequencies are from a sample.

Thanks for listening.

Great stuff! The drums could use a little more EQ treatment to make them better heard without being overpowering. The snare is too loud in spots, and the toms are almost non-existent. You've got a good drummer there, but this was definitely mixed by the guitar player, lol.

Bass could use a little more definition, but I'd actually suggest doing that on a parallel track so you don't lose anything on what's already there.

Have head, will bang. Really fun guitar work all the way through. I listened on headphones and I'd agree the bass could use a frequency lowered . whatever your kick replacement wants to shine on, I'd notch that same frequency out of the bass, just a few dbs. Just a thought.

really cool guitar chops, man.
