Run the C3 and select "rollback" on Sonar to install...

This is looking more and more like a system specific/driver issue!
See my link below
No love for 2017.1 here.
DISCLAIMER!
In no way shape or form am I trying to "rag" on SONAR, the bakers, etc.
I'm just keepin' it real how things are working here for me.
I had three "freeze and crash" in literally 40 minutes.
CWBRN 67983, 67986, 67996.
If these numbers are issued sequentially, then I must not be the only one.
The "fixes" listed on the early release are indeed lengthy, and I was able to verify that the
ones I (and many others) was/were having problems with are fixed. delete key, synth rack, etc.
The only thing I could not verify was inserting markers from a control surface, as 2017.1
will NOT be going on the studio rig anytime soon, and that's where I use the surfaces.
Where I ran into problems was archiving folders; every time I tried to archive my EZD2 or
TTS1 folder; BOOM!
This is on a project created in 2016.10 and that continues to work fine there.
Because I was coming from 2016.10, the 2017.1 installer did the whole "Audio/Midi Setup",
reverted to Tungsten.
Obviously this is a "major" update point, and it ain't working for me!
I'll be watching carefully how things progress for others, right now I'm happy to "sit on the sidelines".

I burned a Windows Image before the 2017.1 install.
Reverted to that image and all is well here!
Not exactly true, I had to revert to the Nov Image that "fixed" the 2016.12 install.
And this is my Office rig:
Win 7x86 Pro
4gb ram
lots of drives and drive space.

Oh, and if this is not the appropriate spot for this feel free to move it, delete, whatever.
I'm trying to avoid some of the "rancor" that has been going on "upstairs", IYKWIM.

This is the first time I've had any "real" issues with "rolling updates".
I've posted with a little more "detail" in the Problems forum.

And again please, do not interpret any of this as "hate and vitriol".
Its just an "account" of what's going on with my rig.

That is why I don't do previews on my production PC. Looks like you're reporting it well. Hopefully Cake can see and ix it quickly.

I installed the early access version on my Win 10 Insider Preview installation, to check.  I don't do a lot with Sonar and I don't have all the plug-ins and MIDI synths installed on the Preview version so it may not be a good test.  But I did load and run some projects and they all worked OK, except for the missing plug ins.

I did have to reset the location where the Sonar Projects folder is (it is on a different drive than the OS and Sonar). But, I've had to do that with almost every monthly update.

I'll hold off on installing it on my production system for the final release.

I don't usually install the early access updates but after having the 6db gain added to AUX tracks I decided to install it. So far, no problems.
