  • What X3 Producer synth/patches should I try to get Moog-y type goodness? (p.9)

Nature can be a real jerk but nope... no intentions here if I can help it. I just have to go and have that confirmed on an annual basis so all the fancy medical dudes can carve me up like a turkey to try and prevent it.

I'm sure I'll be fine. Having to face my own mortality in such a way so young can only contribute to much more interesting music... so there's that. ;-p

Yes, here I have a great deal of respect for you and how you have enriched this forum. For me I faced my mortality a long time ago in Viet Nam. I don't worry about it much anymore.

You however have a ton of things left to give. I for one am looking forward to what they will be.

Sorry... I was perhaps being a little melodramatic but it has been a stressful few days. Thanks, John and I'm sorry you had to endure that cruel, meandering war. Glad you made it out the other side ok. I wanted very much to be an RCAF pilot and begged my parents to sign me up for cadets when I was a kid but consistently got told I was growing too fast to fit into the cockpits. lol

Probably for the best anyway what with the latent gimpiness. I faced mortality more on street level instead as young man but now all the wars I fight are internal and against disingenuously polite, faceless bureaucracies. In some ways those enemies are much more enormous but at least they won't end with a bayonet in my gullet.

It is however why I approach all this music stuff with such urgency. It steals so much time from me it threatens my mission. I will be ever so ticked if I don't get to leave my stain on this world. I'd even settle for an oddly colored smudge at this point.

Thus the need to understand synths. There is no way I can organize and direct large groups of musicians like I used to let alone teach them my crap and record it. Just glad the tech is there and at the level needed to at least make it possible in a virtual sense.

Cheers.

And as long as this is at the top and to bring it back on topic... the healthy synth library of the X1 Production Suite was a major decider for me jumping on Sonar. I needed to know that I could compose pretty much anything I needed to with pretty much any instrument sound I needed in said composition. I had no idea what was what at the time but it proved to be the correct choice. If I had gone with my other top picks I would have had to spend more money to get those sounds... meaning I would not have those sounds at all... because the money wasn't there.
Just needed to learn how to use it which I would have had to anyway with third party gack.

My pleasure. Glad I could find them.

Hey thanks Craig !  I just got back from the 'woods' (no internet, but much time to spend in Sonar on my laptop) and was glad to see the LFOs available and that I'd gotten back in town in time.

Beep, I'm sorry you're having health issues. I pray that you'll be restored to health soon. You're much too talented a player, and as John said, you are a valuable member of this forum. We don't wanna lose you.
