Hi there guys look I'm just a simple girl who records covers of KPOP songs and stuff like that. While I was mixing my project in SONAR X2 I kind of like to restart the playback numerous times to see how it sounds to me. But after maybe restarting my playback 5-6 times when I start playing it again all that plays is the instrumental and the vocals are quiet. Then when I try to save and exit IT CRASHES!! It has done this 4 times already. I have messed with buffer sizes changing them to 128 and 256 i upped my buffer slider and now it still does it please help me!!!!

When you say it crashes, do you mean that you get a Windows dialog telling you it crashed and must be closed, or does SONAR just stop playing back?

It could be caused by a problem with a virtual instrument or plug-in. If you have Reverb, EQ, Compression, etc in your vocal track(s), try removing each one in turn and Saving the file to see if you can identify the culprit.

If there's an error message, put it in the thread.

Laptops can be temperamental because they have throughput issues and requests are made by the system in the background to dim the screen, charge the battery, etc. You can check for that with a utility but I forget what it's called - Google 'throughput test utility' or similar.
