One of the hottest things right now are these new speakers from Presonus. They are cheaper than the Opals as well.

The speakers have some serious on board DSP processing which apparently contributes to their amazing sound. You should definitely check them out before making any final decisions.

Not sure what you are getting at there Zo. There is more DSP going on inside these monitors than most and they are meant to sound very very good. I see Sweetwater are doing them at a special price too.

if you want the best buy EVENT OPAL!

Its not a speaker...its something else...

new three way Event 2030 is good too...but not like OPAL. Event OPAL runs over anything out there, even ADAM S3x-h.

Freddie has not heard the new Presonus speakers (or have I for that matter) so one cannot make such wild statements. Wait for a review before doing anything. Monitors are very subjective. For all we know the Presonus technology has gone past the Opals. There is some very clever DSP processing going on inside these speakers now and it could be way better than anything Event has put up yet, you just don't know.

Coaxial designs are supposed to be superior to normal speaker designs but had some limitations. The DSP processing is supposed to eliminate the limitations so they could be quite amazing.

The Presonus speakers are interesting for sure. I'm sure they'll get their own 50 page thread over at Gearslutz when they're actually launched.

Sure...but before that is proven Event OPAL is hard to beat!
