You may find that you will need to install X2 (or parts of it) too as not everything that was in X2 is in X3. V-Vocal and R-mix, for example.

I went from Producer 8.5 to X3

From SONAR 8.5 Producer the discontinued plug-ins are V-Vocal, VC-64 and the Lexicon Pantheon. I do not recall if V-Vocal is separately installable in 8.5. It may require the SONAR executable be installed like the X series to get V-Vocal. But it is a simple matter to manually delete the unwanted bits of 8.5.
