Not that I can recall. Could be I needed to remove a verion to install a newer one
but don't remember if I ever did.
Hope it's not needed at all at some point in the future though.

The more I look at these channel plugins the more I wish vc-64 could be updated.

+1 !!

I too am an iLok hater, but for me this offer has proved to be an excellent discovery.  The plugin produces great results, and is an interesting alternative to my usual Prochannel bag of tricks.  I wasn't wild about re-installing the iLok software that I had worked so hard to expunge last year, but, since I'm poor, the offer of free, quality software drove me on.  Installation went smoothly, although I still resent jumping through iLok's hoops.

So.. iLok aside, the Eventide UlraChannel strip is a sweet  piece of software.  For FREE!

I got it. I already had ilok manager on my PC anyway. I've had no issues.
I messed with it briefly and I like it.
There may be ways to do everything that it does with what is included in Sonar already, but some times it's convenient to have a plugin with a preset as a starting point that does multiple processes simultaneously. Similar to the Vocal Channel and Percussion channel the are included with Sonar.

The iLok Manager does have an uninstaller. It's called 'Pace License Support' under Add/Remove Programs in Windows. Seemed to work fine uninstalling it here just now. Unless I'm missing something? A few registry keys hanging around don't bother me too much. Most applications leave something in there after an uninstall, so PACE isn't a exception.

I install it quite a bit across a variety of systems and re-image them (almost daily). I've never had it stay around after re-imaging the machine with Acronis.

iLok 2.0 is pretty innocuous, IMHO.

I was reluctant to install it until someone pointed out that the iLok software was no different to having the NI service center installed, which I have had for a couple of years. It's certainly not going to harm your computer.

...wicked
I was going to jump on this after I got the TapeOp notice...but ilok.com wasn't loading up. Now that it is I've re-thought it and decided I don't need it. I've got a Pro-Channel preset that handles just about all of this. But it is nice to have all that in one UI. Still, pass.

I was going to pass but it is time for me to test the new dongle-less iLok system. There are some plug-ins on my wish list which require iLok and provide the dongle-less option. This is a good opportunity to check it out at no cost. All installed, loaded the Eventide plug-in, the UI is a little small but works OK and the install process was painless.

I too have avoided all things iLok. Their first-generation units caused such bad issues for so many users and sullied their reputation so much that many folks just don't want to take the risk of using an iLok. I've have noticed that most iLok 2 users report that it works well and is pretty transparent but there is still a lot of bad will that iLok is having to overcome even to this day.

But that said I decided to give their iLok License Manager a try... it did install effortlessly and my Eventide license showed up right away. I already have NI License Center and AD Online Installer on my system and they haven't caused any issues - hopefully the iLok software will be just as trouble-free.

But for those of you who ordered the UltraChannel - how long did it take after registration to receive the download email?

It took no time at all.
