That is a very nice guitar ...congrats .
Yes you did get a great deal .....all the one's I have seen of that model online were in the $1299.00 Range ..
Hey , if we give you rides in our cars do we get to play it ?

Kenny

The Mira SE was made in Korea.  The Mira S2 (the newest Model) is made here in the US.
The Mira Core (what this one is) were the first line produced by PRS before the "sub" lines
were made, and are full PRS's, and not the "sub" lines.

One of the articles I read on this particular Model, the Mira Core, said it sold for $3,100
new.  The way to tell a Mira Core is the "Coil Tap" toggle switch near the volume/tone
knobs.  The Core's were the only ones that had them.

WOW Larry , you really did get one heck of a deal

Now that you mention those details I do remember the model you picked up ..
A few years ago I was somewhat active on a forum called The Gear Page ...
That forum went nuts when The Mira Core came out ...A lot of guys over there were buying them ...
A lot of nice things were said about that model guitar

Kenny, the tone from this thing is SICK.  It makes me want to play...
I can see why they are so prized now.  Hopefully it will be an
investment that will only appreciate in value.  It's a BEAUTY!
There is one teeny tiny nick on it...hardly noticeable...

I honestly didn't think I'd ever own a "real" full, not SE, S2, X,
PRS.  I did own a Blue Custom 24 SE, but it was "low end"...ok,
but nothing to write home about...I'd really love to have a Custom 24...
THAT'S what I'm really aiming for, but, when I saw this, I said, at
THAT price, I'm going to find a way...

I haven't owned a "high end" guitar since my Peter Frampton Black Triple Pickup Gibson Les Paul,
and that was MANY years ago...so am QUITE happy to be "back in business"!

Hi Larry ,

Based of the design , the woods, and the brand itself , it doesn't surprise me one bit  that your new guitar is a Tone Monster ....
I bet the bridge plays into that too. My Limited edition 61 Epi SG has that type of bridge on it and it hangs right in there w my Gibson R 8 Les Paul with tone and sustain ....
The main thing is It's nice you have something your proud of

Yeah I hear you loud and clear on trying to get a real Axe after letting go of a keeper ...it's very hard to come back .
I used to play vintage guitars when the prices were still very low (mid 70's to early 80's ) ...
Went through a whole bunch during that era ...to many to list ...
The thing that struck me about your post is we both had the same type of experience  including the same model guitar
The very last super good guitar that I had after I sold my 59 Tele was a Gibson Les Paul Custom 3 pickup Black Beauty ...
sold it to Manny's Music in 81 or 82 ....
Then it only took me  30 plus years to get another Gibson Les Paul A Gibson R 8 VOS Plain top .

cool beans on your guitar Larry ...enjoy

Kenny

Congrats on a nice guitar!
It feels good to move up from mediocre to high end...not that I have.
