  • Why do track folders drag expand the actual folder portion?? (p.2)

That would make sense - I keep all of my non current tracks minimised

I don't understand.
For me, the height of track folders always open in whatever state they were saved in, which for my workflow is always minimized.

Lucky you! On occasions I’ve had my 24” monitor completely used up with 5 big headers.

Once you click on Auto Zoom, you must shrink each folder manually to it's minimum height and they will stay that way from then on

Not for me... If I deselect Auto Zoom and then reselect it, folder heads open back up and sometimes using large amounts of real-estate.

...and i fail to see why we "must shrink each folder manually" I dont understand why they cant stay put :)

I reported it to CW late last year (although, in my case I used screensets), and it was confirmed and submitted to development.

Good on you... Is there any uses in me reporting this as well or will that just clog the system?

+1 from me on this issue BENT - I too find that particular behaviour terribly annoying! Heres hoping they can address it soon:)

By expanding the folder, you have a great place to write down any notes, pertinent information, etc... You can also see info on how many archived tracks you have, hidden tracks, how many tracks of audio, how many MIDI tracks. It is a great feature, very useful.

Hi Sylvan... Where do you "see info on how many archived tracks you have" :)

...wicked
I agree in that I have never, ever, used the expanded folder track to view stuff. But that being personal preference is only part of the problem.

Older projects have a most terrible time with this, they always open with all the folder tracks expanded, and even tracks themselves at seemingly random heights. Even after correcting everything and saving, they still reopen that way. Booo-hiss.

So I suddenly discover I’m not the only person with this issue.

I now feel silly for not posting this issue some time ago (X1) on the forum, but I reported it to CW who told me it was NOT reproducible and I left it at that. Concluded it was unique to my system and/or my lack of understanding of Folders.

Yes wicked… Older project folders expand at seemingly random heights unless you save project with Auto Zoom off and upon reopening project refrain from using Auto Zoom.

Some people may see this as a feature……OK.
But please cake, give an “option button” somewhere to disable this.

I feel better now, and tonight I will sleep well. lol

I just don’t understand why a folder header isn't the same size on reopening project. If you save project with auto zoom on.

I reported it to CW late last year (although, in my case I used screensets), and it was confirmed and submitted to development.

Hi Jlien...
I still have the same problem of folder headers not retaining the saved size on reopening a project, (if project was saved with auto zoom on)... and I'm using X3e.

Did you ever get any response back from cake stating if this issue has been addressed?
Thanks BENT

I heard that once a ticket is submitted to Development, even support stuff can't know whether the bug is being fixed or has been fixed until the new update/version has actually come out. If you haven't reported the issue yourself, I recommend doing it because CW are said to prioritize issues depending on the number of reports submitted.

OK thanks for that, I will report this issue.
Personally I find it strange this issue still lingers on seeing it was confirmed and submitted to development.
Surly this is not a big thing to remedy.

I've never bothered to submitted anything to development if it has been confirmed by cake and don't know if your hypothesis is true. Prioritising issues depending on the number of reports submitted leaves a lot to be desired in my view. Just saying.
