Although my music room is isolated from neighbors and therefore I don't have to worry about the "Noise" when mixing or playing. It's difficult to mix my songs since even though my wife loves my music, hearing something played over and over again would test here patience with my hobby.
 
Using headphones is okay for mixing the "big chunks", but what I really need to use of course are the monitors to do it right... or at least as best as I can.
 
I was talking shop with one of my friendly sales guys at Sweetwater and he suggested using Redline Monitor http://www.112db.com/redline/monitor/. Sweetwater doesn't carry it but 112db offers a 60 day trial period. (Pretty generous!)
 
When using headphones, the software mixes some of the right signal into the left ear and vice versa. I tried it out and it seems to work fairly well with my untrained ears.
 
Anyone use this product or an alternative that they could recommend?

Interesting. I've been eyeballing the VRM Box because I will not be able to do much monitor mixing in my apartment and hadn't considered the left/right bleed from speakers.
 
But could this not be emulated with sends and strategic panning of said sends?

With some settings i have almost the same sound of my main monitors (Tascam,Adam,K&H).
The best,for me,in the enviroment simulation.

I really like the toneboosters stuff too, way underpriced imo

I use redline and absolutely love it.  I have not tried anything that is similar, so I have no basis for comparison.  However, I often want to get together rough mixes after the fam has gone to bed, and the Redline has proven indispensable.  I really helps with the false imaging that regular headphone use offers.  
 
I wouldn't use it for a legit mix as monitors are needed for that, but as I said, it really works for a simple rough mix or for even for simple tracking.
 
I keep two VSTs in my master bus:  ARC and Redline.  Together they do it all.
