"Heaven Can Wait" is bit philosophical, a bit from the Movie by the same name and a bit about my own life. Any one with goals, I'm sure can relate. It's the first release of about 20 songs that I wrote to be sort of a concept album.

Please let me know what you think.

Really nice song. The mix was not so nice. The bright and likeable little instrumental melody was too loud and vocal was perhaps too silent imo. Then again I am not a mixer pro.

Thanks Kakku, I tryed for that, but I think you're right. I think you're talking about the piano that is on the 1st and 2nd verse. If that's it +2dbs on the vocal, and -2dbs on the piano should take care of it.

Actually I meant the, I believe it is a electric piano or something, that starts playing right in the beginning. Maybe drop the volume of that. Dii, dii diin dii or something like that. Just remember I am not a good mixer so don't blindly do as I say. It is just my feeling.
Also now that I listened to it again it sounds even better. There is a problem though in my mix advice. My ears might be sensitive to higher voices. I wish somebody with more experience would chime in to aid you(just about anybody would qualify).

Terry,

Nice overall performance and song.   The mix is quite unbalanced though.  The epiano is way too loud in comparison to the rest of the instrumentation and vocals (much more than 2db too loud).   I would start over with the levels, get your drums, bass, acoustic guitar and vocals in the proper levels and then blend in strings and epiano as ornamentation rather then lead instruments.   If you take the epiano and strings out of the equation, the rest of the mix is probably pretty well balanced.

Regards

Terry, I think that the balance in the chorus is quite good. It's just the opening verses and verses after the chorus are unbalanced. You might consider changing the piano patch to something a little brighter as it is very lower mid rangey.
Nice song though.

I like the song.
I agree that the piano sound should be replaced.
The chorus does sound better mixed between vocals and instruments.
The verses voc is too soft because the strings and piano are too loud IMO.

Try mixing using your speakers at a low volume until it sounds great and then play back loud and fine tune.
Use your headphones last!

Nice tune. I agree with the above crits in that your voice should be out in front during the verses as well as the chorus. You have a very nice voice.  I like the sound of the electric piano very much but it is a bit strong in the mix.
Good stuff!

I suggest you drop the ep melody in the chorus to give the vocal melody more attention. Also could drop it in a later verse for a little while and then start again. The ep melody is good but i think there is too much of it. Otherwise the mix is a lot improved and the song is great.
Edit: It works like it is just great but my humble opinion is put less ep melody, but others probably disagree.
