My son is so much more. He can orchestate (was paid in high school to score the marching band and orchestra), plays drums, bass, tuba, trombone, violin, piano/keys, marimbas, guit (of course) and Bandoneon.
All through Jr. High he played trombone in the Orchestra.
In high school he was in Marching Band (Tuba), Orcehstra (Tuba), Jazz Band(guit) and the Drum Corps (Marimba).
Both his UCLA Film Scoring Professor and Dick Grove (in private instruction) said he did not need instruction as he had an innate understanding of music, scoring, theory and etc.
The boy (well.... man, he is 41 now) far surpassed the first three chords I taught him on guitar (E A D or course) and anything else I can accomplish musically.
BTW he also does programming at his day job at UbeSoft where he is a note tracker for RockSmith. Note tracker means he listens to a song and transcribes the notes in a format that the programmers use. Which basically means he has perfect pitch.
Can you tell I'm proud of my son?
