  • How do you set up Sonar X as Master to Sonar 6 as Slave?

I want to run BFD V1.5 on 32 bit and use Sonar X2 as the master.  So far I have no luck playing with the MIDI setting to get it to work.  Any advice?  I did try bitbridge with BFD and Sonar X2 but it is not stable at all.

Best solution is install the 32 bit version of X2 if your hell bent on using 32 bit plug ins.
Or if this is just to get a drum track, why not just bounce it to audio in a 32 bit Sonar and import that to the 64 bit version. Lots of way's to skin a cat.

Try jBridge. Got my bfd eco and Kitcore to work no problem.

But BFD ECO is 64 bit isn't it?

As for running 32-bit Sonar X2, I am not viewing that as an option.  And creating a drum track in 32 bit then bouncing is not ideal either because I tend to do a lot of drum editing/tweaking later in projects.  But I am looking for any solution other than upgrading to BFD3 for $350.

I never upgraded if it is.:) And I have a handful of other 32bit plugins that jBridge was able to get to work when bitbridge couldn't. Try it. I think you'll have good luck with it.

BFD Eco is 64 bit. I run it with no problems but it is very, very CPU hungry. I haven't really used it on any projects yet. I bought it on sale just to grab it cheap. It sounds good but I still use Superior as a main go to. I just got AD2 and it sounds good but it, too, has become very hungry for CPU since AD1.

Bfd eco wasn't 64bit when it first came out. I still have the 32 bit version, because I didn't realize they had a 64 bit update. Anyway, jBridge did the trick.

Well even if there was a way to link two Sonars together, The audio export is not going to be from both, so you would still need to do as I said and transfer the audio from the 32 bit Sonar into the 64 bit version as an audio file.

The only way I can see keeping sanity is to either get the 32 bit version to play or upgrade. Or use the other drummers. A drum player is a drum player, it's the sample library you want.

why use the old version of sonar at all?..(never mind that you may not own two licenses)... just get some free VST host and slave one to the other using a logical connection like LoopBe

Never heard of LoopBe until now.  This is a great suggestion.  Just what I was looking for.  I'll try this before I try jbridge.
