Hi....I have a weird problem that I've never encountered before.
I'm using Sonar X1 Producer 64 bit (RME Baby Face interface) and I just exported a tune to my desktop as a stereo wave file.
When I play the tune using Winamp or Windows Media Player I'm hearing distortion.
I then went back and pulled my master down about half the volume and exported it again but
for some reason it's playing at the same volume and still distorting.
I even imported the wave file back into a new Sonar project and see the meters still peaking .
The only thing different I notice about this project is when I check the outputs of each audio track
which are outputted to ASIO Fireface USB Analog 1 (1) and I click the drop down menu I see
about 14 items saying "Track Compressor (input 2) and the name of the track.
I've never seen this before in any other projects.
Does anybody know what is happening ?
Your help would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Try routing all of your tracks/buses through a master bus in SONAR. The master bus should be the only track/bus feeding the main output of the audio interface. This should help with getting the output level set correctly.

You are welcome. Glad it worked for you.  The Normal.cwt (the default template for new projects) is delivered from Cakewalk with a master bus already defined. If you prefer to use a different template or use a completely empty project template, it is easy to add a master bus by adding a new stereo bus, right-click on the bus and select "Set as Default Bus". Every track and bus created after the master bus is defined will automatically be routed to it.
