I spoke with tech support yesterday and they offered a couple solutions. To this point, I have only had time to try to replace the the .dll file with the one they sent and it did not work... basically I experienced the same problem as when I totally removed the .dll. I could open the EQ but not edit the nodes... so no progress. The instructions about the C++ files makes me a little nervous and I thought I would ask you guys about it before I went through the process... I don't want to alter files that will impact other probrams etc. Also, the guy at tech support was unfamiliar with this issue. Here is his email:
Hi Joe,
Thank you for contacting Cakewalk.
I recommend that you re-install your Microsoft C++ Redistributable Libraries. Many third-party applications will install these so sometimes the libraries can get skewed as multiple versions exist on the same computer. This may be why things are running smooth on one computer but not on another. It might not be SONAR at all, but more so the C++ libraries. Please do this:
Go to
Start > All Programs > Programs and Features and to uninstall any Microsoft C++ Redistributable Packages listed. Afterwards, download these packages directly from Microsoft and re-install them. I have listed the most common Redistributable packages below. If you’re on a 32-bit operating system, I'd get the first three. If you’re on a 64-bit operating system, the second three. If you run both 32-bit and 64-bit SONAR on a 64-bit operating system, install them all.
For 32-bit operating systems or 32-bit programs on 64-bit operating systems:
For 64-bit operating systems:
The Visual C++ Redistributable 2012 page contains installers for both 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30679. You'll be downloading three files:
vcredist_x86.exe,
vcredist_arm.exe and
vcredist_x64.exe. You'll only need to run the
vcredist_x86.exe and
vcredist_x64.exe.
Additionally, you will find a new .dll file attached for the Quad Curve EQ. Upon downloading, please replace it with the initial one in your Cakewalk Shared Utilities > Internal folder. If you continue to run into issues, please let me know.
Any thoughts onthe above?
Thanks for everyone's help!
Joe
