I'd confirm what the required libraries for the cake stuff are, and try reinstalling them first before blanket ubninstalling/reinstalling... Windows should handle the different side by side versions for you

Guys, I am happy to report that my EQ problem has been solved. I again contacted tech support and he guy I talked to was not only very helpful, he had dealt with this issue before. Basically we uninstalled all previous versions of sonar and reinstalled sonar X3. There were a number of directories that we removed files from and also ran regedit and removed cakewalk from there. Anyway, after my system was cleaned off, it appears X3 is running as it should

I greatly appreciate everyone's help with this.

I bet you're glad Cakewalk doesn't charge $99 per phone support incident, like Apple does for Logic Pro...

Ah!  Thanks - Earlier I didn't notice there was a second page of posts, so I was replying to #30 when things were still up in the air.  Good to see this problem resolved.

Did you follow the advice on this thread? Check EasyJoey's last post it appears fixed.

Whatever method you try when it is finally working I suggest running windows update over and over again (installing most optional updates apart from bing. You might see various C++ updates) until there are no more updates left.
