• SONAR
  • Maschine and Sonar X3... [Solved]

After "Bouncing to Tracks" in Sonar X3, I'm having a reproducible glitch. Sonar will freeze up for a few seconds before playback will begin once I hit the play button. A friend of mine did the same thing, and his system also froze up. I'm using Windows 8.1 64 bit on a I7 4770 clocked at 3.9 ghz with 16 GB of ram. Has anyone else noticed this problem? I guess I could just export the audio from Maschine, and then import it into Sonar, but it just seemed like "Bounce to Tracks" was the way to go, since that's the way that I've always worked in Sonar.

Am I missing something? Is there some sort of setting that needs to be adjusted?

Update to X3E and run Native Instruments service centre if you haven't already. Then perform a VST reset (no not just a rescan) and then do rescan afterwards I suggest.

Also consider updating your sound interface and drivers. Consider also that other plugins may be interfering...

Cheers...

It is too late for me to dig into this, but I suggest going to google.com with the following search terms:

site:cakewalk.com forum maschine sonar latency

There look to be some good posts there, and you can adjust the search terms to refine them, as needed.

Good luck, I DO recall another poster, Vlada, having worked through similar issues with Sonar and Maschine, so there should be solutions out there for you to review.

Best of luck to you - I am heading out of town in the morning, and will be away for about a week.

+1 although I haven't experienced this with the latest Maschine/Sonar versions...

I'm running the latest version of Maschine (2.1.1),  and the latest version of Sonar (X3e).  I already have the latest drivers for my sound card too.   Sonar will continue to freeze even after I delete Maschine and all of the instrument tracks associated with Maschine.  This only happens after I "Bounce to Tracks" from Maschine.

Just double checked my end and I don't experience this with latest of everything (inc Windows 8.1.1, X3E and Maschine 2.1.1 (R1332) all 64 bit). Antivirus perhaps?

I had to go in the audio settings under "Sync and Caching" and set the Playback and Record I/O to 2048 and check the "Enable Read Caching" box.  That seems to have solved the problem.
