Markers are extremely important in my workflow.  I use lots of them - How else can you jump to a specific location of complex projects?  You can't.  Markers are great.  So I have the Markers toolbar up in the main toolbar.  It's like in all previous versions of Sonar, with arrows going left and right, a button for inserting a new Marker (but of course the keyboard shortcut is handier) and the menu which drops down to show all of your Markers, and where you can choose to jump to any Marker you want.  
 
In X3, when I use the arrows in the Makers module to go forward or backward, the displayed name in the menu doesn't change.  It doesn't change even after starting playback.  It only updates to display the currently selected Marker, or region to the right of the Marker, if I click in the timeline.  That's wrong.  A bug?  Based on the way it worked in 8.5, it's broken.

Very inconvenient, to not see at a glance where the Marker toolbar really is set currently.

Just created 6 markers in a new project and everything works as expected here.
My projects (old and new) usually have a dozen or so markers and never had a problem before.
Could it be that there is a problem when there are more than a certain number of markers or the marker name has more than a certain number of characters?
How many are you talking about?

Thanks for looking into it, gustabo.  You could be right, that there's a limitation to naming or how many you use.  This is a gigantic project, basically a soundtrack - 1.5 hours! - parallel narration with SFX tracks and underscoring.  After reading your post, I opened the project (the only one I've been working on for some time now) and it has 68 markers.
 
I threw together a test, a blank project with nothing but markers, and the menu worked as it should.  I copied and pasted those 10 markers 10 times, and the menu still behaved.  Not much of a test though, since I just gave them single numbers or letters for names, and there's no audio or MIDI in the tracks.
 
So - well, maybe I just hit a ceiling with this particularly HUGE project.

I had that problem with grouping tracks together before, if you used more than x number of characters to name a group, the name showed up in hieroglyphics...
