When I try to add a part (like a cymbal)to a created file in Addictive Drums the 1st take is muted so I can't hear and play with what I've already recorded. I have to unmute the 1st file to hear them together. What am I doing wrong?

Not sure - but I will ask. Are you recording to a track when playing and if so, are you in comp mode?

There are no other tracks recorded. 
 
I've switched between the modes and it's still the same. When I hit "R" to start recording the first take is muted as I'm playing. I have to un mute the 1st track in playback to hear it with the 2nd take( which is adding an additional percussion piece such as ride cymbal.) 

I usually build a drum/percussion track(s) first. My problem is each time I add something one or more of the previous tracks automatically mute as I'm recording and I can't figure out why. 

Sound on sound is selected in Preferences
 

For what ever reason when I went into preferences and hit SoS it wouldn't stay. When I checked it was in comp mode again. I received help from tech support and it had something to do with a Dell Detect program. It was corrected in msconfig and I'm not getting that problem now. Thanks for the input.
